AIRBORNE ELECTROMAGNETICS
Lodestone Exploration has used four types of airborne EM survey equipment during exploration of the Mount Morgan area: GEOTEM and TEMPEST, equipment used with fixed-wing aircraft; and HOISTEM and VTEM helicopter-borne techniques.
Airborne Electromagnetic (EM) survey equipment is suspended beneath a helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft, and can, at relatively low speeds, hang close enough to the ground to penetrate cover rocks and detect anomalous electromagnetic conductivity, displayed by mineral sulphides.
More information on these systems is available through the www.fugroairborne.com, www.gpx.com.au and www.geotechairborne.com websites.
